the bed does come as described. However I am not sure why it doesn't come with a bed frame. The description does say the bed frame is not included but i didnt notice it. My daugter and I had were really excited to put it together and when i told her that a piece (bed frame) was missing she was very disapointed. I have since bought a bed frame. now after 2 weeks of use the top rails that go to the crown, the crown screws have all stripped. I have looked for replacement rails to no avail. my only solution is to drill the holes all the way through and use nuts and bolts to put it back together.

Had this bed been delivered in a timely manner AND had it either included the required bedframe (or at least had it been more clear about the fact that the frame wasn't included) I could have given it 5 stars...
I just received this bed frame and while it looks really nice, so far (I'm not able to assemble it as it doesn't come with the required bedframe and the "hollywood" bedframe we currently have doesn't work with this.)
But as another reviewer stated the delivery co. CEVA, is TERRIBLE. I called them as soon as I knew they would be responsible to deliver the bed because our contact phone # had changed & I wanted them to update it. I was assured that the new phone # was now in their system and I would receive a phone call as soon as the item was ready to ship. Well, 10 days later I received a postcard in the mail announcing that they were unable to reach me by phone. So I called to schedule an appt. which was set for the following Monday between 1-5. I stayed home and the package NEVER showed up. I was told the following day that they were unable to locate the package...nice. Needless to say I left several messages that were never returned and wasted a LOT of time dealing with CEVA trying to get this bed delivered. Just be warned that if CEVA is named as your delivery option you will be waiting and frustrated!

I absolutely love this bed! I bought it for my daughter's 3rd b'day (july 29th) as her toddler bed started falling apart. I figured it would be wiser to go ahead and spend the money on a bed that would hopefully last her a while, and this bed was perfect! A beautiful and great priced piece as far as the bed itself goes;also, shipping was awesome! We bought & sold from Cymax and the bed was here in a rather quick timely manner. However, the reason I decided to write a review (1st one I have even done) is to let anyone thinking about purchasing this bed know that IT DOES REQUIRE A BED-FRAME!. The description says RECOMMENED USE W/ blah blah frame..I got the bed w/out the frame due to that one particular poor-choice of words. I work for online customer service as well, so I really thought if it needed to bed frame to actually be able to be slept on, it would have plainly stated so in some sort of way. But it does in fact have to have a bed frame! We have since gotten the frame and all is well; had the frame requirement been a little more clearer,.. this piece would have received a 5 w/ no doubt from this reviewer. Hope this helps!! :)
